Applies to the PyMaster mobile application on Google Play and related services.

1. Who we are

The App is operated by Devanshu Studios ("we", "us", "our").

2. What the App does

PyMaster is an educational app for learning Python through lessons, quizzes, coding practice, projects, interview prep, and optional Pro / Career Mode subscriptions. Free and paid features may change over time as described in the App and our Terms of Service.

3. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the App, we may collect:

• Account & identity data — if you sign in (e.g. Google Sign-In / Firebase Auth): display name, email address, provider user ID, and authentication tokens.
• Codename / Display Name — a nickname you choose during onboarding. Stored locally and, if Cloud Sync is enabled, on our Firebase servers. This is not your real name.
• Learning progress — completed chapters/stages, XP/level, streaks, quests, certificates metadata, settings, and similar progress stored on device and, when signed in, synced to our backend (Firebase).
• Device & app data — device type/OS, app version, language, time zone, crash logs, diagnostics, and performance data.
• Usage & analytics — feature usage, screens viewed, lesson events, paywall views, purchase funnel events (via Firebase Analytics or similar).
• Advertising identifiers — advertising ID (GAID) and ad interaction data when ads are shown (via Google Mobile Ads / AdMob), subject to your device and consent settings. You can reset or opt out in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
• Purchase data — subscription/product identifiers, purchase status, and restore status processed by Google Play Billing and RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment card numbers; Google Play handles payment instruments.
• Age-related signals — where required by platform policy (e.g. Google Play Age Signals / parental approval flows), limited signals used to restrict purchases or ads for supervised accounts.
• Hints / optional AI assistance — if you use AI Hints, the relevant exercise context (code snippet or quiz question) may be sent to Google's Generative AI service to generate a response. We do not send your name, email, or account details to the AI service.

We do not knowingly collect government ID numbers, precise continuous GPS tracking for marketing, or payment card PANs. We do not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, location, or files.

4. How we use your information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the App and learning experience
• Save progress, sync across devices (when signed in), and issue certificates
• Process subscriptions, restore purchases, and prevent fraud/abuse
• Show ads to free users (where applicable) and measure ad performance
• Analytics, crash diagnostics, and product decisions
• Send optional daily study reminder notifications (which you can disable at any time)
• Customer support and important service notices
• Comply with law, platform policies (Google Play), and enforce Terms

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Legal bases (where applicable)

Where GDPR/UK GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the App you requested), legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement — balanced against your rights), consent (e.g. certain ads/consent forms where required), and legal obligation.

7. Advertising

Free users may see advertisements (banner, interstitial, rewarded, or native) served by Google AdMob. Ads comply with Google's Ads Policy and the Better Ads Standards.

• Personalised ads are only shown to users who have consented via the Google UMP (User Messaging Platform) consent form shown on first launch.
• The App is for ages 13 and up. Advertising is not shown to users verified as under 13 via Google Play Age Signals, or when a parent has denied the app.
• Pro / VIP subscribers receive an ad-free experience as described in the App.
• You may reset advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads and use in-app privacy options where shown.

8. Subscriptions & payments

All financial transactions are processed securely by the Google Play Store and managed by RevenueCat. We do not store your credit card, debit card, or banking information on our servers at any time. Subscription cancellations must be made through Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Refund requests are handled under Google Play's refund policy and applicable law. We do not process refunds directly.

The App requests only the permissions necessary for its core functionality:

10. Children and teens

The App is a general-audience learning product. It is not directed at children.

• United States (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Google Play Age Signals are used where available. When those signals identify a user under 13, or a parent has denied the app, advertising is disabled, analytics collection is disabled, and in-app purchases are blocked.
• India (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023). A person under 18 is a child. If you are under 18 in India, use the App only with a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly process a child's personal data for targeted advertising or behavioural monitoring. We do not operate a separate government-ID age check. Where Play Age Signals identify a supervised child, the restrictions above apply.
• EEA / UK. The age of digital consent may be 13 to 16 depending on the country. A user below that age should use the App only with a holder of parental responsibility.

If we learn that we hold personal data of a child without the consent the law requires, we will delete it. Parents or guardians may write to devanshustudios@gmail.com.

11. Data retention

• Local data remains on your device until you uninstall the App or manually delete your account.
• Cloud data (Firebase) is retained until you request deletion as described in Section 12.
• Crash logs (Firebase Crashlytics) are retained for up to 90 days.
• Analytics data (Firebase Analytics) is retained for up to 14 months as per Firebase defaults.

Once a deletion request is processed, the action is irreversible. We do not retain backups of deleted user accounts.

12. Data deletion & account removal

In compliance with Google Play's User Data policies, you may permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time.

Method 1 — In-App (Instant):
Open PyMaster → Settings tab → scroll to the account section → tap "Delete Account" → Confirm. All local and cloud data is permanently deleted immediately.

Method 2 — Email Request:
Send a deletion request to devanshustudios@gmail.com with the subject: "ACCOUNT DELETION REQUEST: [Your Registered Email]". We will process and confirm deletion within 30 days.

13. Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information (e.g. transport encryption, access controls, Play App Signing). However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data and are not liable for unauthorised access that is beyond our reasonable control.

14. International transfers

Data may be processed on servers outside your country (including by Google and other processors). Where required, appropriate safeguards are applied by those providers under their terms.

15. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you, and get a copy
• Correct inaccurate data, including your codename and synced progress
• Delete your account and the personal data linked to it, subject to records we must keep by law (for example purchase records Google Play already holds)
• Withdraw consent where we rely on consent, including personalised ads, without affecting processing that the law allows for providing the App
• Opt out of personalised ads in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, and in the in-app privacy options where shown
• Turn off study reminders, music, and vibration in Settings
• Nominate another person to exercise these rights if you die or become unable to do so (India)
• Lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority. EEA and UK users may contact their local authority. We do not currently appoint a separate EU or UK representative; write to the email below and we will handle the request

Email privacy requests to devanshustudios@gmail.com with the subject "PyMaster Privacy Request". We may need to verify that the request is yours.

15A. India — Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023

Where the DPDP Act applies, Devanshu Studios is the Data Fiduciary for personal data processed to offer PyMaster in India. We process personal data to provide the App you chose to install: progress, optional sign-in, reminders you enable, purchases through Google Play, diagnostics, and advertising as described above. We do not sell your personal data.

Grievance contact. Write to devanshustudios@gmail.com with the subject "PyMaster Grievance". We will acknowledge the grievance and aim to resolve it within 30 days, or any shorter period the DPDP Act or Rules require. This does not limit your right to approach the Data Protection Board of India where the law allows.

Personal data may be processed by Google and RevenueCat on servers outside India. We do not intend to transfer personal data to any country the Central Government has restricted under the DPDP Act. Processors' own safeguards are described in their policies linked above.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• Devanshu Studios shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.
• Where a liability cap is allowed, it is the cap stated in the Terms of Service. A cap does not apply to rights that the law of your country says cannot be limited, including statutory consumer rights in India and data-protection rights.
• We are not responsible for any loss of learning progress due to device failure, uninstallation, or data corruption outside our control.

17. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. The "Effective date" / version above will change. Material changes may be highlighted in the App (e.g. notices) or on this page. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
